Construction
DECK CONFIGURATION: slightly crowned flush deck assembly with substantial full perimeter bulwarks. The center cockpit has high seat backs/coamings and is well protected by a sturdy three panel windshield and canvas dodger. The weather decks are sheathed with teak, new in 2001, and glued not screwed. HULL CONFIGURATION: contemporary performance oriented hull form with a raked bow, well rounded forefoot, long low aspect ratio cruising keel, well protected propeller on a skeg, a full skeg supported rudder and a transom type stern. A bar is mounted from the aft end of the keel to the rudder skeg to prevent lines from wrapping around the propeller. There is a very substantial molded-in- rub rail with bronze striker plate around the vessel's perimeter. DECK CONSTRUCTION: fully hand laminated one piece deck and cockpit made of woven roving and strand mat with isophthalic polyester resin. There is a 35mm PVC core in strategic areas for enhanced strength and rigidity as well as improved thermal and acoustical insulating properties. Gel coated exterior surfaces. HULL CONSTRUCTION: fully hand laminated one piece hull with alternate layers of woven roving and strand mat in isophthalic polyester resin. Hull was fully epoxy treated in 1995. The lead ballast is positioned inside the keel in a slurry of mat and epoxy resin, and then thoroughly secured in place with numerous laminations. The hull and deck are laminated together with fiberglass for a strong and leak-free joint.

Accommodation and Layout
She has the standard Hallberg-Rassy 49 layout with guest accommodation forward, master stateroom aft, and main saloon, galley and navigation station amidships. Interior joiner work is hand-rubbed African light mahogany, and the cabin sole is teak and holly with a satin finish. Overhead is white vinyl with mahogany trim. Headroom is 6'5" in the main saloon, and 6'4" in the aft cabin. Twelve opening ports, six overhead hatches, five dorade ventilators, eleven Hella 12 volt fans, and both incandescent and Alpenglow fluorescent lights are located throughout. All hatches have blinds and screens and all ports have aluminum storm shutters. To starboard is an L-shaped settee and to port a bench settee. The solid mahogany centerline table has two folding leaves and easily seats eight, with wine storage underneath. Both settees have shelf storage behind the backrests and the starboard settee has storage below the seat. There is enormous storage above both settees, both on shelves and in closed cabinetry. Comments
Owner’s Remarks that the boat is a proven circumnavigator. Her first owners took her around the world in eight years, including Cape of Good Hope. Her second owners sailed her lightly but greatly added to interior living comfort with new refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, watermaker, shades and blinds, fans, lighting, Kenwood stereo system, new Raritan toilets and holding tanks, cockpit cushions and many other items. Two of their last contributions included a new teak deck and renewed rigging. The present owners, in addition to impeccable maintenance, have completed the boat's renewal with: Volvo engine complete rebuild 2005 Raymarine Autohelm 6001+ Harken mainsail track and blocks Sleipner bow thruster Edson engine controls on pedestal Gates 7.5kw transformer Pro-Furl headstay system w/new forestay Scandik galley sink and faucet LG Microwave New dodger and bimini New deck awning Complete galley equipment Complete bedding and towels Heavier anchors and all new heavier chain Maxwell chain wheel to match new chain And much much more! The boat does not show her age in any except the best kind of way: a quality yacht with Lloyds' certification for soundness and materials that are found in only the most expensive yachts these days. For a fraction of the price of a new comparable yacht, you will find all you could wish for in the boat-- interior and cockpit for 6 in comfort, easy handling, rugged sailing ability and a classic look admired in every port.
